Porn Flicks, I do watch quite a few of them, but usually they are Raging Stallion, Hot House, and some Falcon DVDs. If you know a flick I should review here, let me know. Maybe I'll rent it and review it.

Focus/Refocus - Raging Stallion
Trailer

Hype can be the worst enemy of a film, be it TV, Movies, or Porn, and the apparent flagship release for Raging Stallion, Focus/Refocus, suffers from its own hype.

The plot revolves around a murder, and the man who is the suspect in its committal, because someone has, perhaps, framed him for it. There is a creepy stalker kinda dude, the horny actor who is murdered, and the actual murderer who we see later on. This film is hyped as noir, but let's face it, it has none of that atmosphere. Hype point number one out the window.

Now, I have to be fair, Raging Stallion knows how to find hot actors. From hot tall nordic/celtic types with gorgeous tattoos to dark furry latino types (italians etc. included) they have managed to put together a list of hot sexy men, but I am fearful that Raging Stallion is heading into some odd territory with the lead actor in this film. He is cute, but he is not all that interesting. He has a sweet expressive face, and smiles genuinely, but he also looks a bit annoying, and the whole guy filming himself angle thing can be a bit annoying. Of course, it fits into the plot, but let's face it, who buys porn for the plot?

The sex in this movie is all vanilla. Gay vanilla, for sure, but vanilla, and while I am glad to see Raging Stallion moving away from some of the kinky stuff that was taking over the industry for a while there (I really hated all the piss and spitting, it grossed me out a bit) I still have to wonder if there was not a way to get some interesting camera angles and maybe have the actors show a little more passion toward each other. Maybe a few too many gay4pay actors.

Now, the scene in which the protagonist blows some guys in what looks like a utility room was kinda sexy, but it got boring after a few minutes. The initial scene, which was meant to be hot, was actually, well, boring. (Someone needs to teach that hot tattooed Nordic dude, David Taylor, how to kiss. I suspect him to be a gay4pay guy) and most of the sex, even the potentially hot sex in the parking garage scene starring the beautifully uncut Tristan Jaxx turned out rather dull, and I think it was a directorial issue. It reminded me of a lot of the Kristen Bjorn films in which he is so interested in getting the perfect shot, the most beautiful image on film, that he forgets the human factor and the men come off looking stiff, not in the good way, and uninterested. Hype point number two out the window.

There are two shining moments in this film, and the first is the really hot orgy scene with Steve Cruz, Damien Crosse, who apparently can't do a bad gay sex scene if you asked him to, he loves cock so much, and Francesco D'Macho, one of the most beautifully muscled men on Earth, I have no doubt. This is a scene with several other guys, but let's face it, these three just steal a scene. Damien Crosse bukaked by this group of men is just too hot a scene to overlook.

The second stand out point is the threesome between Adam Killian, oh so hot, Steve Cruz, and Ricky Sinz. Sinz has a phenomenal body and too many tattoos, but these three really seem to enjoy each other, and you know what? That comes through on screen. Putting men together because they are good looking is one thing, getting them together because they totally want to fuck each other is another thing all together, and in this scene we see it clearly, these guys wanna fuck each other, and it nearly melted my screen.

Over all, it is hard to justify the money this film costs, so maybe when the film is available on RSS online streaming, you can pay to see the two best scenes in the film, other than that, all the hype on this film lead me to expect more than what I got, and I wonder if I had not been expecting so much if I might have enjoyed it more.
